Tommy is our second Parvo pup. He came to us to "recover" from Parvo. He was only supposed to be here for 10 days. Yeah, right. When has anyone only been here for 10 days?
Tommy was rough around the edges when he first came to us, to say the least. He thought the world revolved around him and everything belonged to him. Well, at least he shares things now. He still thinks the world revolves around him and we're just going to let him think that.
How did Tommy become "Captain Tuney"? Well, he's a Keeshond mix. Keeshond were originally bred to guard the Dutch canal boats. Tommy likes to think he's in charge so if you combine those two thoughts you get the "Captain" part of it. He also likes to perch himself up high on things and overlook or survey the land (or sea if he were on a boat) like a Captain looking out over the ocean. "Tuney" comes from his breath. Our dogs get salmon oil on their food and Tommy's puppy breath and salmon oil combined smelled like tuna fish. We changed tuna to "Tuney" and that's how we got "Captain Tuney". He also comes to Tuna, Tuney and Thomas Michael. Remember, you asked.
